Saffron Strands among the most precious and most expensive spice in the world.
The saffron filaments or threads are actually the dried stigmas of the saffron flower "Crocus Sativus Linnaeus".
Each flower contains only three threads (stigmas). These threads must be picked from each flower by hand, approximately  more than 150,000 flowers are required to make 1 Kg of saffron.
Saffron has a strong colouring power and intense flavour because of it, use sparingly.
