Singaporeans Update

In March NTUC Fair Price Finest Supermarkets extended the number of outlets stocking
Whittingtons brands and the number of products stocked.
In a visit to the Bukit Timah Plaza and Thompson Road  and Marine Parade stores it became obvious
that sales of mustards, essences and herbs and spices were performing well.
In one of the stores Whittingtons Mustard is the market leader in the category.

During April, these major NTUC stores will be featuring WA produce again during a Western Australia promotion.
Terry Redman, the WA Minister of Agriculture & Food will be visiting the stores and
Whittingtons will run cooking demonstrations during this period.

Indonesian Update

Whittingtons will be entering the Indonesian market with both retail and food service packs.
PT Alamboga Internusa with their head office in Bali and regional offices in Jakarta and Surubaya
has been appointed the Whittingtons Distributor for Indonesia.
The focus will be on supplying western style food ingredients and food products through 400 up-market supermarkets
catering to the middle classes and supplying food service ingredients to western style restaurants
that abound in Bali and the 5 star hotels in Jakarta.
During extensive discussions with many potential distributors and input from the WA government
office in Jakarta and Austrade, a decision was finally made to appoint Alamboga Internusa.
As in Singapore, Whittingtons will market pristine natural products from Australia at sensible premium mass market prices.
This will take advantage of increases in per capita income and the desire by consumers to have access

Whittingtons At Launch of 'Buy West Eat Best'
Launch of Buy West Eat Best

Whittingtons buys most of the ingredients for its fine mustards from local farmers in Western Australia.
As a supporter of Australian grown ingredients we were asked to attend the launch of the
Buy West Eat Best campaign by the Hon. Terry Redman, Minister of Agriculture and Food.
All our mustard seeds come from the Wheatbelt with farmers growing yellow and black mustard seeds.
Our mustards are preserved with fine wine from the Mount Barker region and apple cider vinegar from Donnybrook.
It makes sense to buy local from an Australian company supporting Australian farmers; especially as all the products are natural.
Where possible Whittingtons Herbs & Spices are grown and harvested by local Australian farmers.
At the launch of Western Australia's initiative to buy local we highlighted our Coriander, Fenugreek,
Mustard Seed and extensive range of natural salts.
These include Garlic Salt, Celery Salt, Onion Salt, Vegetable Salt, Chicken Salt, Lake Salt, Table Salt and Sea Salt.
Apart from sea salt this range of salts is all based on ancient salt harvested at Lake Deborah in Western Australia.

Hong Kong Food Show International Sales Team

Whittingtons has just returned from Hofex food show in Hong Kong,
which covers most of Asia. Food critic Jules Baras has the following to say
about Whittingtons products:

     "Food Products"

My favourite new food product to Asia has to be the herbs, spices, and
Beer Mustard    mustards produced by Whittingtons of Perth, Western Australia. I was
attracted to the counter by the aroma of sausages sizzling in Chef Ernest
Battimiello frying pan. Cooked in a beer mustard, the taste was absolutely
divine, and had me returning to his stall time and time again to sample more
of his creations. Using his extensive range, including gourmet Australian red
wine mustard, chilli-mustard, premium milled pepper, natural rum essence,
and lemon essence, to name but a few, I will definitely seek out these
products when they hit the shelves."
