Whittingtons At Launch of 'Buy
West Eat Best'
Whittingtons buys most of the
ingredients for its fine mustards from local farmers in Western
Australia. As a supporter of Australian grown
ingredients we were asked to attend the launch of the Buy West Eat Best campaign by the
Hon. Terry Redman, Minister of Agriculture and Food. All our mustard seeds come from
the Wheatbelt with farmers growing yellow and black mustard seeds. Our mustards are preserved with
fine wine from the Mount Barker region and apple cider vinegar from
Donnybrook. It makes sense to buy local from
an Australian company supporting Australian farmers; especially as all
the products are natural. Where possible Whittingtons Herbs
& Spices are grown and harvested by local Australian farmers. At the launch of Western
Australia's initiative to buy local we highlighted our Coriander,
Fenugreek, Mustard Seed and extensive range
of natural salts. These include Garlic Salt, Celery
Salt, Onion Salt, Vegetable Salt, Chicken Salt, Lake Salt, Table Salt
and Sea Salt. Apart from sea salt this range of
salts is all based on ancient salt harvested at Lake Deborah in Western
Australia.
